Let’s take a few moments to talk about mentors and what Mentorship may look like in a lot of different contexts. Firstly, what is a mentor??? A mentor is anyone who possess a skill or experience that you wish to possess and who has agreed to informally share that skill or experience with you without charge and at your own pace of learning.

​As of April 2018, I began my first postdoctoral research experience and to date it has been an experience like no other. The biggest difference between graduate school and the postdoctoral experience has been the great amount of freedom on a day to day basis.
